Fresh Cherry Streusel

Ingredients:(Serves 4)

  • 500 g cherries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange juice


For this recipe it is not necessary to stone the cherries as they retain a better shape during cooking if the stones are left in.

Mix cherries with sugar, cinnamon, brandy and orange juice in a bowl and leave standing for at least a couple of hours. Transfer to a shallow ovenproof dish which holds about four cups of mixture.
