Cherry Gin

Stalk the cherries, rejecting any unsound ones, prick them with a needle, and half fill some wide mouthed glass bottles with them.

Add 6 cherry kernels, and 4 oz. crushed sugar candy to every pound of fruit, fill up with good unsweetened gin, and cork and seal the bottles. Store the bottles in a cool, dry place for 3 months, shaking them two or three times a week, them strain and re-bottle.
