Brandied Cherries


  • 1 kg Cherries
  • 2 cups brandy
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar


1. Wash cherries and remove stems.
2. Place cherries in jars and cover with brandy. Cover the jars, but do not seal. Stand overnight.
3. Next day place sugar and water in saucepan, bring slowly to the boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Boil for 10 minutes. Skim surface and cool.
4. Drain brandy from cherries and add to syrup. Stir well, and pour liquid back into jars to cover cherries. Seal
5. Let stand at least one month before using.
